Trucklot buying interest was light and
cautious. Boneless skinless breasts were
adequate to fully adequate with spot avail
ability noted at $1.65. Supplies of breasts
with ribs and line run increased and were
about adequate overall. Leg items were
fully adequate to ample except thighs
which cleared well at current prices.
Wings continued in seasonally good
demand, although buyers in some
instances were less aggressive.

Movement of ready-to-cook broiler
fryers was fairly good today and about as
expected for mid-week trading. Less than
trucklot asking prices were generally
unchanged at 46-62 cents. Live supplies
were adequate. Average live weights
ranged desirable to heavy. Processing
schedules today were heavy. Trade senti
ment was mostly steady. In the parts com
plex, supplies of wings were barely adequ
ate to adequate, whole breasts were adequ
ate, dark meat items and skinless boneless
breasts were adequate to fully adequate.

Prices were unchanged to higher. The
market tone was fully steady to firm
Demand at all levels was moderate to very
good, mostly good and best for featured
cartoned eggs, and wholesale large graded
and ungraded eggs. Offerings were mini
mal and generally higher priced. Floor
stocks were short to adequate, usually
closely balanced. Breakers expressed a
good demand for the limited shell egg
offerings, and prices were higher. A large
volume of specially packed dried egg mix
was purchased for military distribution
from December 1990 through March 1991.
Light-type hen offerings were adequate for
a mostly moderate demand, and prices
were steady.
