Concentrating on each class, they put to use the knowledge their coaches have taught them during several months in practice. Then the waiting as individual placings are computed. Emotions run high as the announcer says, “We’re ready.” There is clapping, cheers, cow bells ringing, cameras flashing, and parents beaming with pride as each individual or team is called to the platform to receive their award for a job well done. The 10 individuals scoring highest in the senior divisions remain at the fair for two days of coaching and practice. From these 10, four individuals are chosen according to their five highest average scores to represent Mary land at the national contests. The four contestants chosen to represent Maryland at the National Dairy Judging Contest in Madi son, WI are Amy Brown, Mike Conner, Blair Hill, and Chip Long. In addition, four other contes tants, Chip Savage, Tanya lager, Shannon Harrison, and Lenny Pieper, were chosen to represen! Maryland at the North American International Livestock Expo in Louisville, KY. Dr. and Mrs. Lee Majeskie and William Schnebly will be their coaches.
