Bidders were present from various parts of the United States, Canada, Austra lia, Asia, Africa and the Caribbean. The break fast served on Saturday used about 2160 eggs. Last year $330,000 was raised and as of Saturday it was esti mated that $310,000 had been raised. The district heifer auction held September 21, in which 70 heifers were sold, raised $88,602. One hundred and eighteen quilts were sold with the top price of $6,300 being paid for a “Trip Around the World” quilt made 101 year old Lizzie Longenecker of the Mount Hope Dunkard Home near Manheim. A three-dimensional diorama scene of a vil lage blacksmith made by area artist Abner Zook was sold for $6250. Some quilts prices were: “Mariner’s Com pass” $3lOO, 2 “Coun try Bride” $2lOO & $l3OO, “The Sampler” an applique quilt $ 1800, “Bridal Wreath” $1650, “Apple Blossom” $l6OO, “Pineapple” $l2OO, “Boston Com mon” $llOO and “Log Cabin" $lOOO.
