PSU Dairy Science RALEIGH, NC Nine mem bers of the Penn State Dairy Sci ence Gub traveled to Raleigh, North Carolina on June 24-27 to participate in the Student Affiliate Division of the American Dairy Science Association. Club mem bers attending were: Bob Barley. Conestoga; Bill Curley, Montrose; Karen Fessler, Robesonia, Mary Ann Keith, Entriken; Jill Kutz, Tunkhannock; Marj Shearer, Port Royal; Shelia Swailes, Willow Hill; Sharon Wagner, Elliottsburg; Tom Wiker, Holtwood, The Club was judged No. 2 in the Nation among University Dairy Science Gubs. This recog nition is based on the Clubs activi ties during the year and on its involvement in ADSA. The Dairy Science Club has many activities during the year including the Nit tany Lion Fall Classic, Christmas Cheese Sale, Spring Judging Con test, Dairy Expostion, Dairy Day at the Mall, and many others. In addition to these accomplish ments, four students were recog nized at the meeting for outstand ing scholarship: Ross Hershberger, Martinsburg; Bob Rider, State College; Robert Mowry, Roaring Spring; and Robert Davis, Cochranville. Ross Hershberger was also officially announced as the second place winner in the prestigious Dairy Shrine’s National Student Recog nition Contest This is the highest a Penn State student has placed in this National Competition since 1975.
