A26-Lancaster Farming, Saturday, May 5,1990 30 YEARS AGO - Lancaster County boy won the championship trophy for show manship at the Little International Livestock Show at the Pennsylva nia State University for the second time last Saturday. Bruce Boyd, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Boyd, Ephrata R 3, a senior in the Animal Husbandry curriculum at the University col lected the ribbon for champion swine showmanship and reserve Yorkshire fitter on the way to the grade championship trophy for showing all species. Four other students from the county participated in the 43 stag ing of the event by the Block and Bridle Club at the university. Marion Findley, Quarryville R 3, was named champion fitter in the Angus cattle division. Douglas Kent, Lititz, showed Hampshire swine while Carol Kroeck, Lititz, showed an Angus heifer, and Jerry Hess, Elizabethtown, fitted and showed a horse.
