To cele brate the twentieth anniversary of the Maryland Holstein Spring Show, more than 200 fanners and An ET calf from Spectacular Valiant Mary-ET was sold for $6,000 at the Maryland Blue Ribbon Heifer Sale in Tlmo nium, Maryland. ET Calf Tops Md. friends came early to enjoy a buf fet dinner before the first Mary land Blue Ribbon Heifer Sale. The black, white, and blue streamers and balloons decorating the bam and show ring were the creative work of the Junior club and added a festive atmosphere. Carl Bender, Ron Heffner, Nor man Hill, and Robert Knutsen selected a fine group of heifers for this first Blue Ribbon Sale. The sale was managed by NH Cattle Co. and Remsburg Sales Service. Dennis Brownawell, York Springs, was the auctioneer for the evening. A first choice female-ET from Spectacular Valiant Mary-Et (VG-88) with an excellent mam mary, +2054M, +S2S2F, +$254P, consigned by Kenlin and Kevin Martin of Smithsburg, MD, topped the sale at $6,000. Mary is ranked in the top 100 cows in the United States and is the sixth gen eration of very good or excellent Her ET was purchased by Jerome P. Hartt, Susquehanna, repre sented by Don Welk, Stonehurst Farm, Strasburg.
