SURVEY TO CHECK FARM COSTS RETURNS Interviewers soon will be knocking on the doors of 600 Pen nsylvania farms for the sixth annual Farm Costs and Returns Survey. The major nationwide survey of costs of production and financial conditions throughout the farm sector is conducted by the state offices of the National Agricultur al Statistics Service, a branch of the U.S. Department of Agricul ture (USDA). Across the nation, 24,000 far mers will be contacted. The 600 Commonwealth farm operators will be surveyed between Febru ary 23 and March 22 by represen tatives of the Pennsylvania Agri cultural Statistics Service (PASS). State statistician Wally Evans said the Pennsylvania interview ers will collect data on farm expenses, finances, capital purch ases, and costs of production for PAUL B.
