Self-Esteem
Defined And
Developed
We hear so much about self-es

place on something. When applied
to the child, it is the parents’ ap

child’s perception, it is how one
sees himself or herself.
How then is the self-esteem de

their children, probably have the
greatest influence which can be
frightening! How we, as parents,
respond to our children and what
are our attitudes are the child’s
primary source of feelings of self
worth. At home it is important to
promote self-esteem every day. It
is not a process to be completed
and finished. It is a style of life.
