JOSEPH, MS Angus exhibitors from across the United Slates and Canada have entered their best bulls and heifers, total ing 520 head, for the 1990 Roll of Victory (ROV) Angus Show to take place during the National Western Stock Show in Denver, January 13. For the third year in a row, Angus exhibitors have entered the largest number of registered beef cattle of any breed for the event. The junior Angus heifer show will start Saturday’s activities scheduled for 7:30 a.m. in the sta dium arena. The 22 head entered will be placed by judge John Maurer, Wheelock, Texas. The ROV open Angus show will fol low at 8:30 a.m. Maurer and asso ciate judge John McKnight, Sear cy, Arkansas, will'judge the show. All major Angus events at the 1990 National Western Stock Show will be on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, January 11, 12 and 13. The judging of Angus cattle actually begins on Thursday, January 11 in the Livestock Cen ter Auction Arena at the Stock yards at 12:30 p.m. with the plac ing of the pens and carloads of Angus bulls. Judges for the 31 pens and 8 carloads will be Steve Harmon, Lavina, Montana; Way ne Stevenson, Hobson, Montana; and Harvey Lemmon, Woodbury, Georgia. The judging of the Angus sale SALE Ul B. Lititz, PA 175< Phone:7l7-738-1121 Exhibitors Enter 520 Head At Victory Angus Show bulls will take place on Friday, January 12 at 8:00 a.m, A new method of evaluation will be used this year for the sale bull show. Instead of one judge, a five-man committee will be used with the bulls being placed using a compo site system. There will be no indi vidual classes in the show. AH bulls within a division will be brought into the ring at the same time with only a division champ ion and reserve selected, as well as a grand and reserve grand champ ion. Judges for the event will be George Marcy, Hay Springs, Nebraska; Dave Nordin, Prattvil le, Alabama; Gary Parker, Lara mie, Wyoming; Martin Schaff, St. Anthony, North Dakota; and Stan Watts, Johnson City, Tennessee. The National Western Angus Sale will follow at 1:00 p.m. It will be held in the Beef Palace Auction Arena adjacent to the cattle bams. In addition to selling some 30 consignments which includes some pen of three bulls, there is a possibility that some bulls from the open Angus show may be added to the sale offering. A special highlight of the sale will be the auctioning of an Angus heifer to benefit the Angus Found ation. This heifer is a February 1989 daughter of Hoff Hi Spade SC 491, donated by Hoffs Scotch Cap Angus Ranch, Bison, South Dakota.
