This survey was a follow-up to the opin ion survey, whibh drew responses from 60 percent of the producers representing 90 percent of the nation’s production. The first survey showed a sig nificant interest in pursuing a national effort to stabilize egg prices. The second survey, deve loped by Penn State University, was aimed at determining the level of financial commitment that pro ducers would pledge. The survey also asked producers who they believed could best represent the producer’s interest Based upon the returns, approx imately 26 percent of the 1,600 surveyed responded. About 66 percent still indicated a national effort was appropriate.
