He received the award August 2, 1989, at the awards ceremony of the 84th Annual Meeting of the American Dairy Science Association, held in Lex ington, Kentucky. An early deci sion of his initiated the arrange ment by which all Indiana DHI records are processed by the Dairy Records Processing Center (DRPC) at Raleigh. North Caroli na. Dillon has served in numerous leadership roles for the 12-state DRPC at Raleigh, including chair of the Advisory Committee in 1979, 1984, and 198 S. Dillon has served for 13 years on the Technical Committee on Weighting and Sampling Devices, was a member of the Task Force for Network of On-Off Farm Computer Systems, chaired the North Central Regional Extension Dairymen Committee for NCDHIP and was on the Policy Board form 1985 to 1987. From Indiana dairy youth prog rams to continuing involvement with the Purdue campus Dairy Days, Dillon’s 26 years in Exten sion have been dedicated to mak ing dairying a better business and way of life in Indiana and the nation. An ADSA member for 39 years, Dillon has received the Indiana State Dairy Association’s Distinguished Service Award and the Indiana Cooperative Exten sion Service Career Recognition Award. He served as Secretary of the Purdue University Coopera tive Extension Specialists Associ ation and is a member of Dairy Shrine, Gamma Sigma Delta, Epsilon Sigma Phi, and the Uni versity of Illinois Ag Alumni Association. The National Dairy Herd Improvement Association has supported this ADSA award since 1983. National Dairy Herd Improvement Association is a fed eration of the state Dairy Herd Improvement Associations and represents 58,000 of the dairymen in Dairy Herd Improvement Asso ciations in the country.
