Fayette County Adam & Janice Derr, Dawson Adam and Janice Deer with their 18-year-old son Adam Jr. farm 250 acres near Dawson. The 75 registered Holstein milking herd averages over 17,000 pounds of milk and 630 pounds of fat. The Deers have farmed all their lives but bought this farm two years ago. Relchard graduated from college four years ago and wanted to farm so he had the 55-head Holstein milking herd on the farm. Layman, a Guernsey breeder from a neighboring farm, farms the other 103 acres. Relchard also had 55 head of young stock and his herd average is nearly 18,000 pounds of milk.
