SCHUYLKILL HAVEN (Schuylkill Co.) The 4-H and F.F.A. Champion Livestock Sale will highlight the Saturday night schedule of events of the 1989 Schuylkill County Fair. The sale begins at 6:00 p.m. on August 12. This sale is the culmination of much hard worirby the young peo ple who undertook a steer, hog, or lamb project. The animals are required to be sold at the fair auc tion. Bids generally exceed market price which rewards the 4-H or Delaware State Fair To Feature Water Quality Booths NEWARK, DE University of Delaware Cooperative Exten sion is again planning a tent full of fun and education at the Delaware State Fair, July 20-29. Groundwater safety will be a key feature in this year’s tent. A computer game will test .visitors’ knowledge of the subject. A groundwater model will graphi cally demonstrate the course that water lakes from fields and homes into the underground holding areas. “Groundwater quality is a national issue of wide public inter est,” says Tom Williams, Univer sity of Delaware Extension agri cultural engineer. “Fair goers would do well to stop by the lent and get more information on pro tecting groundwater quality. Also featured will be a home greenhouse display staffed by Delaware Master Gardeners.
