Annual Meeting TUNKHANNOCK The Annual Meeting of Sire Power, Inc., will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 1989, beginning at 10:00 a.m. The site for this meet ing is the Sheraton Harrisburg West, located in New Cumber land, Pennsylvania. A report of the 1987/88 fiscal year, approval of yearly board actions, and confirmation of Sire Power board members, are among the meeting agenda items. Com ments from Sire Power General Manager, DuWayne Kutz, and Board President, Gary Rickard, will also be made. “Communications - An Impor tant Part of Your Life” will be the topic of featured speaker Orion Samuelson. Samuelson is Farm Service Director for WON Radio, Chicago, Illinois. A farm news broadcaster for over 30 years, Samuelson reports news stories and features on both radio and television. He is heard on over 300 radio stations across the country on his daily syndicated “National Farm Report.” Samuelson also produces and hosts a 30-minute weekly television show, “U.S. Farm Report.” Sire Power’s Annual Meeting allows Sire Power patrons the PDPP Annual HARRISBURG, PA The Pennsylvania Dairy Promotion Program will hold its Annual Meeting January 3 and 4, 1989, at the Atherton Hilton in State College. The Tuesday, January 3 session will include committee meetings and a long-range planning work shop for board members. The public is invited to the Annual Banquet on Tuesday evening which is preceded by a 5:30 pm reception. Tickets are available for sixteen dollars. Guest speaker at the banquet will be “Mr. Pennsylvania” Pete Wambach, Sr., who for the past 20 years has been heard daily on his statewide syndicated radio prog ram, “This is Pennsylvania.” Wambach, who is the father of Applicants Sought For Beef Industry Representatives HARRISBURG The Pennsylvania Beef Council, in cooperation with the Pennsylvania Cattlemen’s Associa tion and the Pennsylva nia Veal Producers Association, is currently accepting applications for the 1989-90 Beef Industry Representa tives and Veal Ambas sador’s Programs. The nine representa tives selected, six Beef Industry Representa tives and three Veal Ambassadors, will rep resent the Pennsylvania Beef Council at various consumer and producer functions, including health fairs, in-state retail promotions, coun ty fairs and mall promo tions. Interested individuals must be between the ages of 18 and 22 years old, be a resident of Pennsylvania, have access to a vehicle, have a knowledge of the livestock industry, an agricultural background or home economic inter ests, and be willing to participate in a training program necessary to' become an effective spokesperson for the beef or veal industry. These programs are an excellent opportunity for interested individu als to gain hands-on public relatfons and sales experience within the livestock and food industry.
