“'• * t #i 111 (i e VCVt DB-Lancaster Farming Saturday, December 24,1988 County Agents Honor One Of Their Own UNIVERSITY PARK (Centre) Arthur Nesbitt, president of NASCO International, former Penn State trustee and forfner assistant county extension agent in Clarion County, received the 1988 Honorary County Agent award from the Pennsylvania Associa tion of County Agricultural Agents. He was honored during the association’s annual meeting at Penn State in November. Before joining NASCO, Nesbitt was executive secretary of the Pen nsylvania Holstein Association for seven years. A graduate of Penn State in agricultural economics, he was named an Alumni Fellow in 1987 and was honored as a Distin guished Alumnus in 1979. In 1987 he was appointed to complete an unexpired term on the university’s board of trustees and continues to support the university as a member of the Penn State Development Council. In 1984, he chaired a national ad hoc committee for the Pennsylvania Dairy Herd Improvement Association. Laura Watts of Cumberland is the membership secretary and William Shuffstall of Clearfield County is the editor of the association’s newsletter, “Off the Cuff.” The association promotes pro fessional development among Penn State Cooperative Extension agricultural agents and provides a forum for extension issues throughout the state.
