Correspondent YORK Sunnybend Sexy Ici cle B Star, the Holstein senior and grand champion bred and owned by Bridgette Boyer was named the supreme champion of the York Fair 4-H dairy show. Selection of her winning four year-old for the supreme title capped a day of awards-taking for Boyer, a veteran York 4-H dairy exhibitor. In the Holstein division, she captured three of the four champion designations with own bred animals from her first 4-H project animal. Boyer’s Holstein reserve senior and reserve grand champion, a three-year-old, and her reserve junior champion, an intermediate yearling, are both from maternal sisters to the supreme winner. A junior yearling, praised by judge John Morris for her size and strength, won the Holstein junior champion honors for Dixie Doll of Glenn Rock. Top honors in the Guernsey division were claimed by Jenelle Boyer of York with a dam daughter combination. Senior and grand champion went to three year-old Golden Lock Tex Premier Greta, while the reserve grand and junior champion was her junior yearling daughter. Kelly Morris of Fawn Grove snagged the Guernsey reserve senior champion spot, exhibiting a senior two-year-old. In the reserve junior position was Paul Rauhaus er of Dover with his junior yearling. Heading up the Jersey breed was Tim Warner of New Park who claimed senior and grand champ ion rosettes with his senior two year-old, Top-O-Hill Silver Bea con. Junior Jersey tweed awards were shared by Annie Rauhause and William Jenkins, both of Dover. Annie Rauhauser’s junior champ ion was a senior yearling, which topped the intermediate calf shown by Jenkins. Morris tapped his junioranimals for the top spots in the Brown Swiss division. The grand champ ion was Welsh Ponderosa Titan Bunni, a junior calf exhibited by Kelly Jo Myers of York. Sliding into the reserve grand champion position was Patrick Lucabaugh of Spring Grove, who exhibited an intermediate yearling. Kim McCleary of Stewartslown earned senior champion honors with her dry cow entry. Jenelle Boyer was selected champion fitter of the 4-H compet ition by judge Jeffrey Myers. In the showmanship runoffs, age categ ory winners were Bridgette Boyer, senior, Jenelle Boyer, intermedi ate; and Trisha Duncan, junior. Placings for the show are as follows.
