Senior Champion Female Meranda Dum Perry County Youth Livestock Sale NEWPORT (Perry) The 1,135-pound grand champion & 4-H champion steer owned by Dee Curtis of Landisburg was pur chased by the Perry County Republican Committee for $1.91 per pound at the Perry County 4-H and FFA Livestock Sale. Paul Shover & Sons of Loysvil le paid $1.13 per pound for the reserve grand champion and 4-H reserve champion steer owned by Rachel Finkenbinder of Duncan non. This was the second year in a row that Shover bought the reserve champion steer, which in 1987 also was owned by Rachel Finken binder. Tom Schreiber’s FFA champion steer was bought by the CCNB Bank of Newport. Larry Long Real Estate of Port Royal purchased the FFA reserve champ ion steer owned by Dennis Gard ner of Newport. A county record was set when The Perry County Republican Committee entered the top bid of $1.91 per pound to buy Dee Curtis’ grand champion steer. This was the second year in a row that the First National Bank of Loysville bought the champion market lamb. Farmers Trust of New Bloom field and Carlisle purchased the reserve grand and 4-H reserve champion market lamb for $4.20 per pound. The lamb was owned by Dawn Curtis of Landisburg. Her sister, Dee, received $ 1.40 per pound for her FFA champion market lamb from Harry Fahne stock Construction of Newport. Thomas Miller of Ickesburg bought the reserve FFA champion market lamb for $2.00 per pound. Melanie Brookhart of Liverpool showed this lamb. Juniata Valley Bank of Millers town bought the reserve champion pen of rabbits for $BO, which was owned by Rachel Finkenbinder of Duncannon. A new county record was set when the Bank of Landisburg paid $5.10 per pound for the grand champion and 4-H champion market hog owned by Holly McLaren of Shermansdale.
