Hog Show Showing homebred Yorkshire- Duroc crossbreds, John and Julie Bechtel of New Enterprise drove their hogs to market champion banners in junior livestock judging. It was the first time they’d exhi bited hogs bred on their own farm, the young people said. John, 17, a June graduate of Northern Bedford County High School, displayed his 228-pound barrow to the grand championship while Julie, 16, a high school junior, took the next-highest prize with a 220-pound gilt. Nelson Beam, commercial hog producer of Elverson, judged the 99-head show and awarded blue ribbons to these other class win ners: Danielle Pepple of New Enteiprise, Kim Claar of Wood bury, Mike Anderson and his sister Judy of Schellsburg, Ginger Kegg of Bedford, Kirk Diehl of Bedford.
