Competition is keen for the New York State Bull Test Sale to be held at the Cornell Livestock Pavilion at Cornell Uni versity starling at 7 p.m. on May 6th. Out of the initial 72 bull? which entered the program it looks like approximately 45 bulls will be up for sale. Extension Associate, Bill Greene says, “this year’s bulls are setting a new record gain with a 4.07 lbs. cumulative average daily gain. I’m getting excited about this years’ Bull Olympics ’88.” After the fourth weigh in period, here are the medal contenders for this year’s Bull Olympics ’BB. In the Angus category Gold Medal contender is a Ballantrac Angus Farm bull bom 2/6/87 from West field, N.Y. with a cumulative daily average gain of 4.56 lbs. Close behind for second place Silver Medal is a Maple Avenue Farm bull bom 3/5/87 from Earlville, N.Y. with an average cumulative gain of 4.53 lbs. A bull bom 2/9/87 from Tamberlane Farm of Canan daiqua is in second place with a cumulative dailiy average gain of 4.23 lbs. Secure m third place is a 4/6/87 bull owned by Meadow View Farm of Frankfort, N.Y. with a cumulative gain of 4.02 lbs. The three medal contenders in the Polled Hereford category arc; first place is Dunwalkc/ Puddinstonc bull, bom 3/17/87 with a cumulative gain of 4.65 lbs.
