E6-Lancaster Farming, Saturday, March 12, 1988 Jersey Organizations Go To Pine Tree State In ‘BB COLUMBUS, OH The 120th Annual Meeting of the American Jersey Cattle Club (AJCC) and the 30th Annual Meet ing of National All-Jersey Inc. (NAJ) will be held June 21 to 24 at the Holiday Inn by the Bay, Port land, Maine. Four days of beautiful scenery, relaxing fun and Jersey activities are scheduled by the host organization, the Maine Jersey Cattle Club. Formal events begin the evening of June 21 with the Annual Jersey Breeders Banquet at 7:00 P.M., preceded by an ABS-hosted social hour. The winners of the AJCC Master Breeder and Distinguished Service Awards will be honored. Wednesday, June 22 is filled with tours to leading Maine Jersey herds and is topped off with the choice of a tour of the L.L. Bean store in Freeport or an evening cruise in the Casco Bay. Thursday, June 23 begins with the NAJ Breakfast and Annual Meeting. A ladies program is also scheduled, as is a dairy quiz bowl for the juniors. Noon will find all participants at the Cumberland County Fairgrounds for a clam and lobster bake, followed by the 31st Annual National Heifer Sale and an elite cow sale called, appropri ately, The Maine Event. The even ing will again feature the trip to Bean’s in Freeport and the Casco Bay cruise. Friday, June 24 brings the AJCC Awards Breakfast, honoring the winners of the Young Jersey Dairyman Award. A junior break fast and the dairy quiz bowl finals are also scheduled. The AJCC annual meeting concludes the for mal events, followed by an option al tour of more top Jersey farms.
