Her daughter jokingly refers to her mother as “the German Stoic” because Marie lives by the creed of “doing what has to be done to the best of my ability, learning to accept whatever comes along and realizing that other people are worse off than myself.” Marie admits there have been plenty of things she has done in life, not because she enjoyed them, but because they needed to be done. Vermont Castings has revolutionized the art of woodbuming. Again. They did it the first time with the Defiant, a handsome, efficient woodstove with doors that opened for a view of the fire. They’ve done it again with the Defiant Encore. With a strikingly beautiful design that will enhance any decor, a large, clear glass area for fire viewing, a super conve nient ash removal system, and an incredibly clean- burning combustion system, the Encore is a tough act to follow.
