Dale and Faye Herr of Kirkwood (Lancaster). His projects are in com grain and com silage, and he has worked on the public relations, super vised occupation, and leadership committees. Dale has earned the Greenhand, Chapter Farmer, and Red Rose degrees. He has won the chapter’s scholarship award, Star Red Rose award, and pro ficiency awards in specialty crops and com. Dale also has competed in dairy products contests on the state and county levels. Interested in fishing and hunting. Dale is a member of the Who’s Who in America in Agriculture, the wrestling team, and the student senate. He is vice president of his senior class. Upon graduation Dale plans on becoming a partner with his father on the family farm. Dawn Herr Currently the presi dent of the Lower Dau phin FFA chapter. A member of the Conewago Church of the Brethren and its Youth Group, Dawn is interested in bicycle riding, walking, and playing volleyball. Her plans for the future include mnning for a state FFA office and attending a technincal school for floral design. Eric D. For the last four I years, he has also shown * steers at the Lampeter f Fair. ■} The son of Donald and Linda Herr, Strasburg (Lancaster), Eric has participated in the fruit sale and has served on several committees. Previously, Eric has served at vice president and chaplain of his chapter. He holds the Star Greenland and the Red Rose Farm degrees. Eric is active in the Strasburg Men nonite youth group. Eric is eying a career in the field of production agriculture. Dave Herriot Dave Herriot, 17, is H. G. Parkinson FIFA chapter president at Fort Cherry High School. Dave - resides in McDonald ■MB' (Washington) with his May parents Mr. and Mrs. David Herriott. Last year, Dave was chapter treasurer and student advisor. He has earned degrees in Greenhand, Chapter and County farmer. He received a second New Holland, PA 17557 place gold state project book contest and a silver award for Home and Garden. His team received third place in the state parl iamentary procedure team. During Dave’s four year FFA in volvement his projects in home and garden, sheep breeding, poultry meats and work experience allowed little time for his hobbies wood working and hunting. He has attended Western PA Leadership Conference. Dave plans to attend technical school and continue developing his sheep flock. Duane L. Hess Duane L. Hess, 18, placed third in the nation for swine showmanship while at the National FFA Convention. He also has won a bronze medal at the convention for poultry judging and third place at the Penn State poultry contest The son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Glenn Hess of Washington Boro (Lancaster), Duane is the president of the Manor FFA chapter. Prior to this he was treasurer. He has earned the Greenhand, Chapter Farmer, and the Red Rose degrees. Motorcycle riding, skiing, and hunting are Duane’s hobbies. Upon graduation Duane plans to continue working on a farm or get an agriculture-related job. In addition, he won a gold medal in the national livestock show manship contest He also won first place in the Berks-Lebanon agronomy contest and in the livestock-judging competitions at the Kutztown, Allentown, and Reading fairs. Richard competed in a creed speaking contest and project-book contests. Currently president of the Twin Valley FFA chapter, Richard also has been vice president He has earned the Star Green hand degree and been involved in the Eastern Pennsylvania FFA Leadership Conference, National FFA Washington Leadership Conference, and ' the Blue Mountain Co-op Council One-Day Insti tute. Other activities that Richard partici pates in include his church’s youth group, Student Council, Spanish Club, and Golden Fleece 4-H Sheep Club. He enjoys showing sheep and dancing, and his future plans include attending Penn State’s College of Agriculture and becoming a state and national FFA officer. Ryan L.
