Today is our oldest child’s birth day and I find it difficult to realize where all the time has gone. She has grown up and established a career the same as all of our other children have done. It seems as though all that mother and father did was work hard and grow old. We’ve seen good times and bad times. The bam burned the first year that we started farming. We’ve had many floods and also years when there was a drought. But we try to remember the years that our child ren gathered honors for themselves and our bam was full of hay and our crib full of com. You see, in the last three months I’ve been taking pictures of beauti ful colored leaves on trees, of air balloons that float over our build ings and even a flood that covered acres of our meadow. Then I also took numerous pic tures of our son’s wedding in Chi cago rccendy. And of course, when our grandson was here, I tried to catch him in unusual situations. To make a long story short, when I opened my camera there was no film in it. I could not believe my eyes. The motor hummed everytime that I pressed the button but there was no film to move forward. How could I have done this? Oh well, luckily I can count on some of my children giving me some pictures that they took of the wedding-I hope.
