    HARRISBURG “Financing
Agriculture Into the Next Century”
is the theme for the Pennsylvania
Association of Farmer Coopera
tives (PAFC) annual meeting, set
September 29-30 here at the
Sheraton-West.
Featured speaker at the evening
banquet is Lt. Governor Mark
Singel, who is discussing rural
economic development in the
Commonwealth.
The two-day symposium,
designed for Northeastern
cooperatives, begins Tuesday,
September 29 with remarks by
PAFC President Robert M. Dever,
the assistant general manager of
Atlantic Dairy Cooperative. The
invited keynote speaker is Rep. Ed
Jones, Tennessee.
Following the keynote, a distin
guished panel is set to discuss the
issue of financing both production
agriculture and the agriculture and
rural electric cooperatives that

quet on September 24,1987, at the
Lurgan Lions Club Building in
Roxbury. The family style turkey
and beef dinner will begin at 6:45

Boyd E. Wolff, Pennsylvania’s
Secretary of Agriculture, will be
the guest speaker. Mr. Wolff has
been a member of Pennsyvlania’s
family of farmers since birth. He
was bom into a farm family 55
years ago and has made farming a
way of life for himself and his
family.
The 1987 Conservation Fanner
of the Year will be announced at
the banquet The Franklin County
