820-Unc«ster Farming, Saturday, August 15, 1987 Seven State Delegates Named To Attend AIC Convention Seven Commonwealth young adults, who served as delegates to the Penn State/Pennsylvania Asso ciation of Farmer Cooperatives summer youth institute held at Juniata College, have been named to attend the annual meeting of the American Institute of Cooperation at St. Louis Missouri, August 10-13, 1987. Those named by the Summer Institute were; Irene Benner, Kim Hopple, Junia Laughery, Todd Marwine, David Price, Janet Sweinhart, Jim Zakostdecky. They were chosen on the basis of a report covering local activi ties, a quiz on cooperative business functions, and leadership activities while at the institute. At the national convention, the delegates will take part in various programs designed to increase their knowledge of farmer Delaware Co. 4-H Fair Set Bring the whole family to Dela ware County’s 4-H Clubs Summer Fair. There is something for every one according to Nadine B. Albany, Extension 4-H Youth Agent. The Fair will be held on August 15, 1987, at Rose Tree Park on Route 252 in Media. There will be an open horse show that any rider is welcome to enter, prize lists are available at the 4-H office. 4-H members will be showing in goat, pig, lamb, Seeing Eye puppy and small animals shows. Pigs and lambs will be auctioned to put in your freezer at 2:00 p.m. (the ani mals will be taken to the butcher, meat will be picked up another day). Individual 4-H projects will be judged including; sewing, rock ets, woodworking, vegetables and foods. The delegates are representa tives from the following coopera tive councils; Adams-Franklin- York, Blue Mountain,, Cumberland-Perry, Erie- Crawford, South Central, Susquehanna-Wyoming. The youth institute was spon sored jointly by Penn State’s Col lege of Agriculture, The Pennsyl vania Association of Farmer Cooperatives and local coopera tive councils. bers will be giving demonstrations on many aspects of 4-H. A tailgate sale will be held in the back park ing lot of the park. Interested deal ers can call Kl 4-4134 for informa tion. Refreshments will be on sale in the 4-H Center. Events begin at 9:00 a.m. and end around 4:00 p.m., admission and parking are free. All activities will be held in the rear of Rose Tree Park. The tent where animal shows will be held is located behind the 4-H Center.
