MELVIN M. LEHMAN - Owner Danville Buying Station Phone: 717-275-2880 ATTENTION TOBACCO FARMERS!! The Farmer's Friend! Receiving Tobacco Monday thru Fridays We are expecting more buyers for our Tuesday & Thursday sales and we feel it is VERY IMPORTANT that you visit our sales, where the action is, or call after the sales for sale results. Last weeks top price was 65'. Average price was also up from last week’s sales. We thank our new buyer from Universal for helping to improve our market. If you want to process your tobacco, make sure how and why you select the right company to process. Alex Parker Tobacco Co. is a future buyer and will help to improve our market. They are quite capable of selling this tobacco. They are a very credit worthy tobacco company. We need new tobacco companies in our market. We at Paradise are doing the best we can to get this job DONE! If you sell tobacco on the farm it is because the buyers feel they can buy it cheaper from you there. If they tell you the auction can not supply enough tobacco for their needs right now, that’s not true, because they can get all the tobacco they want if they bid for it. Call us to find out what style of tobacco we expect to be in demand this week. When sowing your new tobacco beds, it is important to apply Ridomil according to the LABEL. Two layers of muzzling will also produce earlier plants. Be sure that you inspect your tobacco that’s still in the barn, to make sure it is not heating and spoiling.
