used worldwide to re-introduce
osprey to lands where they have
disappeared.
The program began in the
summer of 1980 with the trans
location of six young osprey from
the Chesapeake Bay. To date 111
osprey chicks have been reared in
the Pocono hacking towers. For
the time being translocation of
osprey chicks has been stopped.
Everyone is hopeful that natural
reproduction will increase in years
to come as the hacked chicks
plywood. Using a textured
plywood, such as Till, will give a
nice appearance to the finished
structure, Scarborough says. A
hinged front cover and fold-in
display stands allow you to com
pletely secure the building at the
end of the day. The lower display
stand on the back wall folds up to
increase working space inside the
building when necessary.
