The 16 millimeter, 27 minute film (also available in video cassette) includes nest building, mating, fishing and raising young osprey. The specific community is looking forward with great anticipation to the spring of 1987 for the return of more nesting osprey in Penn sylvania. This history-making program was directed by Dr. Larry Rymon of East Stroudsburg University. The Pennsylvania osprey re introduction project is being recognized by international raptor organizations as a “model” program. The program began in the summer of 1980 with the trans location of six young osprey from the Chesapeake Bay. To date 111 osprey chicks have been reared in the Pocono hacking towers. For the time being translocation of osprey chicks has been stopped. Everyone is hopeful that natural reproduction will increase in years to come as the hacked chicks plywood. Using a textured plywood, such as Till, will give a nice appearance to the finished structure, Scarborough says. A hinged front cover and fold-in display stands allow you to com pletely secure the building at the end of the day. The lower display stand on the back wall folds up to increase working space inside the building when necessary.
