However, information on seven of those attending was not available at that time. This week, Lancaster Farming is happy to recognize those winners. UNIVERSITY PARK - Penn sylvania was represented at National 4-H Congress, held in Chicago Dec. 7 to 11, by a group of outstanding delegates. They were selected from more than 145,000 Pennsylvania youths who annually participate in the Extension Service’s educational 4-H program. Among those attending the national event were: Thomas P. Dunchak n Thomas P. Dunchak 11, Lit tlestown, competed for one of four $l,OOO agriculture career scholarships, sponsored by DeKalb Ag Research, Inc., DeKalb, 111. The son of Thomas and Cecilia Dunchak, he is a sophomore majoring in agriculture at Penn State’s Mont Alto campus. A 4-H member for 11 years, he has served his local club as president, vice president and treasurer. He has also been president and news reporter of the county club, as well as treasurer of county council. Dunchak completed projects in sheep breeding and marketing, pet care, riflery, archery, soil con servation, models, airplanes and rockets and commodity marketing. The daughter of John and Barbara Gadomski, she is majoring in computer science at Penn State’s Worthington Scranton Campus. A member of 4-H for 10 years, Gadomski has served her local club as president, vice president, secretary, treasurer and news reporter. She has also been secretary and treasurer of her county club as well as secretary of county council. The daughter of Bob and Carol Kessler, she is a sophomore majoring in physical therapy at Penn State’s Mont Alto Campus. A member of 4-H for 10 years, she has served her local club as president and her community clubs as secretary and treasurer. She was also County Council representative for the Puppy Club and a teen leader for the goat club. Kessler has completed projects in goat, horse, capon, ceramics, clothing, strawberries, leadership, citizenship, photography, forestry, rabbit, candlewicking, cooking, cake decorating, leather work, seeing eye puppy and wood working. The daughter of Bill and Connie Marteeny, she is a senior at Somerset Area Senior High School with plans to become a high school home economics teacher. A 4-H member for nine years, Marteeny has served her local club as president, vice president, news reporter, assistant treasurer, recreational leader and photographer. She also served as recreational leader for county council and was a clothing project leader and assistant food leader. She has completed projects in health, clothing, home en vironment, child care, foods, dairy foods, dairy and sheep. Helen Norman, R 1 Liberty, attended National 4-H Congress after placing second in the home management program. The daughter of Donald and Janet Norman, she is a junior at Liberty Junior/Senior High School. She plans to attend college and participate in the IFYE program. A 4-H member for eight years, she has served her local club as co president, secretary, treasurer, news reporter, song leader and game leaders. In addition, Norman was junior leader in foods and clothing for three years and a member of the planning com mittee for five years.
