The system has met FDA requirements as a premilking sanitizer as required by regulation. The method deserves consideration if cow’s udders are exceptional ly clean before milking. It can be used as a part of the routine and is cost effective. The manufacturers claim reduction in mastitis-causing organ isms on teat skin when compared with tradi tional udder prepara tion techniques. This is not the same as reduc tion in new infection rate.
