Pennsylvania Secretary of Agriculture Richard Grubb will speak on the need to improve net income to dairy farmers. Regional Cooperative Marketing Agency will conduct the meeting and provide those in attendance with more information on the marketing agency. RCMA will be able to obtain over-order prices for dairymen when 95 percent of the farmers in the 11-state Northern region support the organization, according to Arden Tewksbury, chairman of the Pennsylvania steering committee. Arthur Little, executive director of RCMA, will also be available for questions. Similar meetings were held in the northern tier counties of Pennsylvania last week. Harold Ely, coordinator for RCMA, noted these meeting went well. "The idea takes a little ezplaination to get an understanding,” he said. Once the farmers realize what the goal of the organization, they have been supportive. This percentage in cludes members of the Inter-State, Maryland-Virginia and the Mid- Atlantic division of Dairymen Inc. cooperatives. These three cooperative have formed the Mid- Atlantic Cooperative Milk Marketing Agency Inc. which operates with the same goal as RCMA, to obtain over-order prices for their members milk. Tewksbury urges all dairy farmers to attend this meeting. Meetings are also scheduled for Nov. 10 at the Turbot Grange Hall near Milton at 8 p.m.; Nov. 11 at the Buffalo Valley Grange in Buffalo Crossroads in Union County at 8 p.m.; Nov. 13 at the Vo- Ag room of the Middlebury School in Snyder County at 7:30 p.m.; and Nov. 20 at the Walker Grange Hall in Mexico, Juniata County at 8 p.m. For more information on the meetings, contact any member of the Pennsylvania Steering Com mittee for RCMA.
