Featured speaker will be Dr. Lawrence W. Specht, professor of Dairy Science Extension at Penn State University. Specht will present a talk and slide show dealing with “History of Dairy Cattle Improvement.” Specht, who works out of the Department of Dairy and Animal Science at Penn State University, has a Bachelor of Science degree in general agriculture from Cornell University, a Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in dairy cattle breeding from Michigan State University. He also was assistant 4-H club agent in Oneida County, New York. His main program focus is dairy cattle breeding and dairy records program. He also serves as a liaison with the artificial in semination industry and also does educational work with dairymen. The Wayne County Holstein Club will conduct a short business meeting to elect directors and will also present vouth awards to the Wayne County 4-H and FFA Dairy Judging Teams. Distinguished Junior Member Contest for Junior Pa, Swiss Assoc, CARLISLE The Pennsvlvania Brown Swiss Association will hold its annual meeting on Nov 11 at the Best Western Inn. Carlisle Bob Hagenow, Beloit. Wis., classifier and Mid-West fieldman for the national association will start the meeting at 11:30 am. with discussion on the classification and news from the national office. Also slated for discussion is the youth program and the recent All- American sale. All Brown Swiss enthusiasts are invited to attend. It's From ClMßflti- will awards Eastern Milk Producers Complete Move SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Eastern Milk Producers Cooperative has moved into new quarters here. The new address is: 2401 Burnet Ave., P.O. Box 6966, Syracuse, N.Y. 13217. The co-op’s new telephone number is: (315)463-0781. General Manager Michael Donovan said the new headquarters facility “is slightly bigger and is a better building” than the. former complex at 6567 Kinne Road, which the co-op had occupied since 1969. Donovan said the co-op had been planning to renovate the old facility when the new one, for merly occupied by a division of Bristol Laboratories, “came on the market at the right place.” The dairy cooperative, which has about 3,900 member farmers, operates a number of facilities in the Northeast, employing more than 200 people. About 45 work in Syracuse.
