D26-Uncaster Farming Saturday, Novambar 1,1986 Sale Reports Le-Ida Farms Holsteins Production Sale was held Oct. 24 by Leroy and Ida Showaker, 7 miles east of Shippensburg, Cumberland Co., Pa. A large crowd attended the sale. The high selling cow of this registered Holstein herd was $4,600. The 2nd high brought $4,100 and the 3rd high was $1,550. The average of the 37 milk cows was $1,260 and the average of all 50 head was $lO2O. Kling’s Auction Service conducted the sale. A Public Auction of • butchering tools was held Oct. 25 by Reba M. Goheen, in the Chan ceford Community Center, near the Brogue Post Office, York Co., Pa. There were over 200 people attending the sale. Some prices received were: Biro band meat saw $720, commercial meat grinder $4OO, butcher kettles $45 to $BO each, crocks $l5 to $6O each, lard press $45, antique wooden sausage stuffer $6O, antique wooden lard press $4O, ornate hand carved barber chair $250, walnut stand w/glass ball and claw feet $65 and camel back trunk $4O.
