recipe for apple fritters made with a yeast dough and fried
in deep fat

recipe for cheese soup that tastes like the soup sold by
Denny's on Route 30. She writes that she has tried one
recipe, but the milk and cream separated.

ANSWER - Penny Keeseman, Shippensburg, requested
a recipe for homemade mayonnaise that Pastes as good as
store bought mayonnaise. Thanks go to Louise Kunkel,
Kempton, for sharing the following recipe
Homemade Mayonnaise
1 egg
1 teaspoon mustard
Vz teaspoon sea salt
1 teaspoon raw sugar
3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar or lemon juice
1 cup safflower oil
Mix egg, mustard, salt, sugar, vinegar and Vz cup of the
oil in blender. Blend until smooth. Continue blending while
adding the remainder of the oil. Add oil very slowly in a
steady stream into the center of the egg mixture. Store in a
jar in the refrigerator. Note: Sea salt is available at health
food stores. '

for green tomato jam using green tomatoes, fruit gelatin
and sugar Thanks go to Janice Miller, Milton, for sharing
the following recipe.
Green Tomato Jam
4 cups pureed green tomatoes
4 cups sugar
6 ounce package fruit flavored jello
Boil pureed green tomatoes and sugar for 20 minutes
Remove from stove and add the package of jello. Let stand
10 minutes. Fill containers and cover with paraffin. If jam
is too stiff, 5 cups of tomatoes can be used My recipe cells
for raspberry jello, but different kinds can be tried.
ANSWER - Mrs Leo Barsmca, Neshamc Station, N.J.,
requested a recipe for a lemon-cream cheese pie using
instant pudding. She said the recipe used to be on the
pudding box Thanks go to Mrs Robert Reynolds,
Paradise, for sharing the following recipe which she notes
was on the instant lemon pudding box
Lemon Cream Cheese Pie
8 ounces cream cheese
2 cups milk
1 small package instant lemon pudding
1 9-mch crumb crust
Stir cream cheese until very soft. Blend in Vi cup milk
until smooth. Then add I'/z cups milk and pudding. Beat
slowly with rotary beater for 1 minute. Pour immediately
into a 9-mch crumb crust. Chill

3 eggs (beat 5 minutes)
1 cup granulated sugar
% cup cooked pumpkin
3 /4 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons cinnamon
Walnuts, if desired
Mix all ingredients together.
Grease cookie sheet and flour it.
Pour on cookie sheet and shake
evenly. Bake at 350°F. for 15 to 20
minutes. Sprinkle confectioner’s
sugar on 2 sheets of paper * '

18-ounce package cream cheese
4 tablespoons butter or margarine

1 cup confectioner’s sugar
Spread filling on cake and roll
