The banquet, held at the Harrisburg Sheraton, also gave the association the opportunity to showcase up-and-coming leaders in the livestock industry through its outstanding youui awuiua program. One of two honorees in the Outstanding FFA Youth category was Fritz Frey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Frey of Quarryville. Frey was a 1984 recipient of the Keystone Farmer Degree and was also named Eastern Regional Star Farmer during the same year. Last year he earned a second-place gold medal at the national level in the FFA’s Beef Production Proficiency program. Since his graduation from Solanco High School last year, Frey has been in charge of the show cattle at Twin Oaks Farms, the family’s beef operation. Named the association’s Out standing FFA Girl was Kim Hopple, daughter of Terry and Peggy Hopple of Mechanicsburg.
