Correspondent WARRENSVILLE Remarking that she had obviously dropped the word “no” from her vocabulary and jokingly adding he didn’t know how anyone could stand an organization that long, 4- H member Bill Fry presented Hannah Fenstermaker, Laird sville, with an award for her 35 years of service with 4-H at the 4-H Leaders Recognition Banquet held at Warrensville Sept. 18. Hannah was one of 30 4-H leaders in Lycoming County recognized for their contributions to the organization. She received a gold clover embedded with a sapphire for her service. Receiving diamond clovers for 20 years of service were Helen Way, Fairfield Community Club, and Lavonne Young, Roughnecks Horse & Pony Club. Pearl clovers for 15 years of service were presented to Dorothy Barto, Silver Spurs Horse & Pony Club; Jackie Lycoming County’s PIFY’s who traveled to Japan display souvenirs they brought home with them. Awards were presented to 13 leaders for one year of people for serving for five years as leaders. A special award for “doing more than was asked” went to Donna McCaslin, Chippewa Acres Community Club, and Alice Gir ven, Little Muncy Creek 4-H Club, for coordinating the JIFY program for inbound Japanese students.
