Eastern Milk Producers Relocate
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Eastern
Milk Producers Cooperative has
purchased a new headquarters
facility here, and will be operating
out of it by mid-October, General
Manager Michael Donovan an
nounced.
The co-op’s new home, located at
2401 Burnet Ave., “is slightly
bigger and is a better building”
than the current complex at 6567
Kinne Road, Donovan said.
“Plus,” he added, “we were able
to save the co-op money by buying
the new building for less than what
we sold the current complex for.”
The current headquarters includes
two adjacent structures in the
middle of a major shopping
district.

Donovan said the co-op had been
planning to renovate and link the
two structures when the other
building, formerly occupied by a
division of Bristol Laboratories,
“came on the market at the right
price.”
The Burnet Avenue building
needs less work to get it ready for
Eastern’s 45 employees in
Syracuse, which means, Donovan
said, “we expect to save money
refurbishing the building, and at
the saipe time avoid disrupting the
work areas during renovations.”
Eastern has been located at the
current Kinne Road site since 1969,
when the co-op constructed the
larger of the two structures.
April 1 to Sept. 27 totaled an
estimated 35,111 head. An
estimated 1,188 were exported
during the week ending Sept. 27.
Live cattle exported under the
program are expected to increase
as countries develop tenders to
participate in the export enhan
cement program.
