Freeman Aukamp, HI New Providence, is shown in this issue with some prime pickings in his orchards. On his 4% acres of peaches, despite recent wind storms that caused heavy windfall, many trees are still yielding 10-12 baskets each. Picking, extending over weeks, has produced one of the heaviest crops and one of the longest picking seasons in Mr. Aukamps ten year history in peaches. Workers add more baskets of tomatoes to the lines on the farm of Paul Herr near Unicom, bringing the average this year to way above 15 tons per acre. Mr. Herr says his field still has green tomatoes, unless frost comes earlier.
