When the hammer came down for the final time, Mark Weber, Mohnton, was the successful bidder, outpointing contender Wilmer Hostetter. Weber purchased Satin for $4,900 at the recent Wilmer and Mark Kraybil Herd Dispersal. Satin, a VG-67 Valiant daughter, will freshen in December with a Whittier Farms Ned Boy calf. During her first lactation, in 300 days, she produced 17,145 pounds of milk and 534 pounds of fat. Her cow index stands at plus 364 milk and plus 13 fat. Her dam, out of Lawcrest Marvex-Twin, produced a top record of 19,090 pounds of milk in 253 days. The next two dams produced records over 22,000 pounds of milk and 800 pounds of fat.
