Correspondent MEADVILLE Queens Manor Holsteins, Jamestown, owned by the Ed Doeberiener family, dominated the blue ribbons at the Northwest Pennsylvania Holstein Show on Aug. 20, here at the Crawford County Fair. The Doeberieners claimed 10 first place trophies, as well as owning a share of the grand champion and showing the reserve grand champion and champion bull in route to capturing the premier exhibitor banner. Returning to the winner’s circle, Cherry Brook LTD Balboa was named the grand champion by judge Loren Elsass of Wapakoneta, Ohio. As a senior 2 year old, she was the grand champion of the 1985 Pennsylvania Holstein Championship Show in Meadville. More recently, she stepped into the reserve cham pionship position at the Western Pennsylvania Holstein Show where David Dowler stands the grand champion, Cherry Brook LTD Balboa. Dowler owns her jointly with David Thomas and Queens Manor Holsteins. Recently fresh, the 3-year-old grand champion topped a class of 16 and garnered best udder honors. A Valiant daughter, she is owned by Queens Manor, David Thomas and David Dowler. Dowler bred this champion, and she is the first animal to carry his prefix. Morrell Farms of Cochranton earned the premier breeder banner by winning first place ribbons in the senior get of sire and produce of dam classes, as well as placing high in several other classes. Morrell Farms also exhibited the best bred and owned animal, an aged cow sired by Brookfield Elevation Libido. Junior champion went to the senior yearling, Queens Manor Kingpin Inga, owned by Marsha Anthony. An intermediate yearling topped a class of 38 entries and received the reserve junior champion placing. Leadfield JWR Prestar sired the junior champion Rynd-Home Prestar Bonjeur-ET, owned by Paula Rynd. Show placings follow.
