Dale Maulfair, Jonestown, topped the Ayrshire show with Maulfair Acres Jewel Dana. This is the second consecutive trip to the winner’s circle for Maulfair’s homebred aged cow, sired by Selwood Greta’s Jewel. Reserve grand champion honors went to a 9-year-old dry cow also owned by Maulfair. Maulfair Acres Hi Kick Pepper was sired by Mar-Ral Hi Kick and bred by Maulfair. Heather Hernley, Lebanon, achieved junior honors with her senior yearling, Timberlawn Squire’s Annie, bred by Ann Young, West Grove. Pattie Maulfair, Jonestown, took reserve junior champion with her homebred intermediate yearling, Maulfair Acres Nick Chris. Meadow Hill Kayle Aggie kept the grand championship of the Brown Swiss show in the family, so to speak. Her dam, Amy Marauder Annie, copped the grand champion title at last year’s show. This homebred 4-year old, a daughter of Beckers Captain Kayle, is owned by Gary Mase, Lebanon. Reserve grand champion honors went to the champion of the 4-H show, Meadow Hill Prospect Lauren, owned by Judy Mase, Lebanon. Gary Mase also took home the junior champion, Meadow Hill Johnny D, while the reserve junior champion went to Mike Kunkle’s entry, Shady Creek Wesley Betty.
