The ice cream con cessionaire, running out of dishes, served ice cream in cones rolled from dough intended for zelabia, a crisp wafer-like Persian pastry offered by a neighboring con cessionaire. The idea was an immediate and spec tacular success, and by 1924 some 245 million cones were sold.
