BROADWAY - Warren County
dairy farmers will be represented
in the coming year by Mary
Chamberlain of Hackettstown,
who was crowned last week as the
Warren County Dairy Princess.
Mary, 16, is an active 4-H
member whose primary interest
lies in the nutritive aspect of milk
and dairy products.
She has worked on her grand
parents’ dairy farms, though she
lives in Hackettstown, a town of
8,000 people in eastern Warren
County.
Tina Santini, 17, of Stewartsville
was chosen as alternate princess
during Warren County’s Dairy
Night Extravaganza which lured
more than 100 dairymen, spouses
and agribusinessmen to the
Warren Grange Hall in Franklin
Township.
Mary, a junior at Hackettstown
High School, will compete for the
New Jersey Dairy Princess title
during the Flemington Fair in
August.
She is a member of several 4-H
clubs, concentrating on nutrition,
food preparation, home
economics, rabbit rearing and
community service.
She currently serves as
president of the Warren County 4-H
Council.

Tina, the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Sam Santini, was raised on a
60-cow dairy farm on Good Springs
Road in Franklin Township.
She serves as secretary of the
PEORIA, 111. The American
Guernsey Cattle Club over
whelmingly approved a con
stitutional amendment that
changes the number of directors on
the board from 15 to 9 nationwide.
This vote was taken at the
National Guernsey Convention
held here earlier this week.
Among the awards presented at
the convention was the prestigious
Tarbell Trophy. This trophy is
given to the cow with the highest
fat record on a mature equivalent
basis. Kenneth Garber, Willow
Street, Lancaster County, was this
year’s recipient with his cow,

Future Farmers of America recent year for which statistics
chapter at Warren Hills Regional have been compiled.

Guernsey milk which has a high
percentage of solids, he added.
“The tenor of the meeting was
very harmonious,” he noted. A
pleasing 94 percent of the proxies
were assigned to the proxy com
mittee, which showed that the
members have a high degree of
confidence in the judgement of the
directors, Cavanaugh noted.
