Mary Chamberlain BYEDSHAMY Special To Lancaster Fanning BROADWAY - Warren County dairy farmers will be represented in the coming year by Mary Chamberlain of Hackettstown, who was crowned last week as the Warren County Dairy Princess. Mary, 16, is an active 4-H member whose primary interest lies in the nutritive aspect of milk and dairy products. She has worked on her grand parents’ dairy farms, though she lives in Hackettstown, a town of 8,000 people in eastern Warren County. Tina Santini, 17, of Stewartsville was chosen as alternate princess during Warren County’s Dairy Night Extravaganza which lured more than 100 dairymen, spouses and agribusinessmen to the Warren Grange Hall in Franklin Township. Mary, a junior at Hackettstown High School, will compete for the New Jersey Dairy Princess title during the Flemington Fair in August. She is a member of several 4-H clubs, concentrating on nutrition, food preparation, home economics, rabbit rearing and community service. She currently serves as president of the Warren County 4-H Council.
