And Dispersals
p Nationwide
Reports from seven sales for the
week of May 2 to 8 showed 320 head
averaging $2,272.20. These sales
were from Oregon to Oklahoma to
Vermont. The top prices at the
sales ranged from $42,000 to $702.
Here is a brief look at the results of
these sales.
AYRSHIRES
The 18TH EMPIRE STATE
SPRING SALE held in New York
averaged $702.46 on 59 head. A
bred heifer sired by Star Man
topped the sale with the price of
$1,425. Second in the bidding was a
first calf heifer by Bozo, selling for
$1,225.
The six cows averaged $837.50
and the 10, first calf heifers
averaged $843. Tom Whittaker was
the auctioneer.
JERSEY
The NEW ENGLAND JERSEY
SPRING SALE averaged $1,550 on
42 head. A 3-year-old sired by
Milestone Generator topped this
sale with a price of $4,100. Second
in the bidding was a 2-year old

SIRES SALE in Oregon averaged
$856.58 on 19 head. The top two
selling entries were 2-year olds
sired by Welcome Choice Admiral.
The highest price was $1,700
followed by $1,450.
In their youth sale, the high price
was $9OO on an 8 month old
daughter of Wincrest Volcano.
This sale averaged $4lB on 15 head.
The OKLAHOMA STATE SALE
averaged $1,038 on 34 head. A
junior yearling by Raemelton
Deacon Fashion topped the sale
with the price of $l,BOO. Second in
the bidding was a 2-year old sired
by Welcome Choice Admiral,
selling for $1,750. She was followed
by a 2-year-old daughter of Lone
Palm Telestar Judilee with the
price of $1,700.
The six cows in this sale
averaged $1,331. Gary Estes of
Missouri served as the auctioneer
