Market Comment: Prices were
unchanged to higher on large and
extra large, unchanged on
mediums. Cartoned egg movement
was fair to occasionally fairly good
and generally showing im
provement from early week. Floor
stocks of large and extra large
ranged adequate to closely
cleared. Mediums were at least
adequate or available. Additional
offerings of graded products were
noted as adequate. However,
ungraded packs of class ones and
twos were tight and in demand.
Lighter weight eggs were building
and in some instances noted as
surplus.

volume buyers, consumer grades

Market Comment: Prices were
unchanged to slightly higher. Off
farm movement was tapering a
bit, but combined with previous
committments was sufficient to
maintain full processing
schedules. Canner movement was
light and prices somewhat
negotiable in an effort to stimulate
sales during a period of lighter
buying interest. The undertone
was at least steady.

Light Type Hens: 5-7, mostly 5%-
6%.

Market Comment: Demand for
ready to cook whole birds
remained slow, and discounting
was a prime factor in effecting
clearances at several plants.
Demand in the parts complex
continued to center on tight sup
plies of legs and particularly leg
quarters. Wings were in fairly
good balance. The earlier calls for
cutlets continued to keep this
supply clearing while rib-on and
line-on breasts were trading at
lower trending prices.
Live supplies were moderate.
Weights were mixed but generally
desirable. Slaughter schedules
