    Students Compete In Penn State Dairy Expo
UNIVERSITY PARK -
Saturday was Dairy Expo day at
the Penn State Ag Arena. The
show, sponsored by the Dairy
Science Club, used Penn State
dairy cattle for fitting and
showmanship competition.
This year’s Dairy Expo was
dedicated to Paul Shallenberger,
Professor of Animal Science and
adviser for Penn State’s dairy

Showman was William Lesher,
Berks County.
At noon several special events
were held. Students competed in
milk chugging and calf dressing
contests. In the celebrity milking
contest State Dairy Princess Beth
Heald and University Dairy
Princess Michele Campbell won
over teams composed of Paul
Shellenberger and Dieter Kneg,
Lady Lion basketball players and
Penn State wrestlers.
Larry Brown, Forrestville, NY,
was chairman of this year’s Expo
assisted by Gary Fink from
Jeannette.
