U*t Supper mural
(Continued from Page B 18)
She says she held the old com
munion cloth on her lap and “put
gold pins in the row so I wouldn’t
get mixed up.” This painstaking
procedure was repeated for each of
the murals.
Mrs. Eddinger started her task
in July and had completed the five
murals by Christmas despite
several battles with the flu.
“I had the flu a couple times but
I kept on working,” she noted.
And the best part of crocheting
the murals?
“Getting it done,” says Mrs.
Eddinger with absolutely no
hesitation and a quick laugh.

The package, valued at over
$6OO, was made possible by con

Joan Alter, Mrs. Eddinger’s
daughter with whom she lives,
says her mother has always
crocheted, but began in earnest
when she retired from a garment
factory. She has crocheted various
doilies and bureau scarves, aprons
and pockets, tablecloths, and even
Barbie doll items. She is presently
engrossed in another project for
Rev. Piper, a crocheted canopy for
abed.
Mrs. Alter says her mother
seldom accepts money for her
efforts. According to Rev. Goss
when Mrs. Eddinger presented the
mural to his church she remarked,
“I hope this brings lots of hap
piness to this church.”
“And it has,” Rev. Goss af
firmed.
