PENNSYLVANIA - Penn sylvania stocks of corn, oats, wheat, barley and soybeans on January 1 totaled 131.6 million bushels, down one percent from a year ago, according to the Penn sylvania Crop and Livestock Reporting Service. Stocks on farms, at 116.7 million bushels, were down one percent and off-farm stocks at 14.9 million bushels were down three percent from a year earlier. Corn stored in all positions totaled 106.0 million bushels, down five percent from last year’s record high 111.5 million bushels. Barley m,all storage positions, at 1.59 million bushels, was up eight percent from a year earlier. Soybeans stored in all positions totaled 2.97 million bushels, down 16 percent from last year’s total of 3.53 million bushels. On January 1 there were 323 off farm storage facilities (mills, elevators, warehouses, terminals and processors) with a total gram storage capacity of 32.4 million bushels. EQUIPMENT, INC. All wheat stocks in all positions totaled 2.54 billion bushels, 19 percent more than last year’s 2.14 billion bushels. Soybeans stocks in all positions, at 1.76 billion bushels, were up 24 percent from a year ago. Sorghum stocks in all positions totaled 990 million bushels, 37 percent more than a year ago 'The total number of off-farm storage facilities in the United States on January 1 was 13,770, with a total grain storage capacity of 8.2 billion bushels.
