At North Carolina State her research involved summarizing data from the AJCC type appraisal program. From this education, Wolfe was able to provide the leadership for the development of the Dixieland Jersey Sires proving group in 1985. The group involves Jersey breeders in her represented area. Jersey breeders will appreciate her un derstanding and enthusiasm on this subject Hie PJCC festivities will begin on Friday, April 11th, at 12 noon at the Mercer County 4-H Park, north on Route 19, Mercer. High quality bred heifers from across the state will be paraded in front of buyers. Top sires and service sires are represented in this offering And most heifers will be springing or due within two months of the sale. Lunch will be available at the park. Sale Chairman, John Mc- Connell, Volant, urges breeders who need spring and summer milk to lode over this collection of heifers. If younger stock is needed, there will be a select offering of ten calves after the bred heifer sale. Calves ranging in age from in termediate to yearlings will suit the production and show minded individual. Jersey Queen contestants will undergo personal interviews early in the evening and then enjoy the buffet before the contest. Con testants seeking to represent the Jersey breed across the state in 1986 will vie for the title of Penn sylvania State Jersey Queen. Farm tours will begin the day on Saturday, April 12th, as Jersey people tour the farms of David and Donna Reusing, MeadviUe, Jeff Peters, MeadviUe, and Thomas and Carolyn Sanderson, Conneat Lake. The Reusing family of four milk three times a day in an im maculate stanchion bam. Their 20 plus cows boast the highest herd average of the Jersey breed in the state, and one of the highest of all breeds in Mercer County. Jeff Peters, in partnership with Charles Hotson for five years, milks 60 cows and farms over 200 acres. This Jersey farm has had Jerseys on it since the early 1900’s. The Sanderson crop and dairy farm boasts over 100 registered Jerseys pumping out their protein and fat enriched product.
